ABOUT THE AUTHOR

DR. WONDAER

Long ago—on a night when shooting stars scribbled the sky like silver crayons—a dream-scientist named Dr. Wondaer discovered “Wonderlight,” a sparkling energy that leaks from fantastic ideas. He bottled the first beam in a test tube, only to have it burst into a living storybook!

Dr. Wondaer began traveling the multiverse collecting Wonderlight, cataloguing new worlds, and inviting kids to leap inside each fantastical tale. As Dr. Wondaer’s bookshelves expanded, he called his ever-growing collection (and his spaceship), The Wondaer Library—a swirling vault of talking maps, moonlight ink, and bedtime beasts.

But one day, disaster struck! His apprentice (and part-time Wonderlight wrangler), young Astro Stardust, returned to find the library in shambles, its stories scattered, and Dr. Wondaer missing like a puff of vanished wish-smoke. Now it’s up to Astro—and you!—to track down the missing tales and bring the Wonderlight back before it fades forever.

THE REAL DR. WONDAER

Dr. Wondaer is the pen name of the founder of Wondaer Studios and the author behind The Wondaer Library. Okay, okay—Dr. Wondaer is technically a fictional character. But the person behind the stories is a film producer, screenwriter, and storyteller with years of experience crafting magic on-screen and on-page… By day, The Real Dr. Wondaer is an Executive Producer of Post Production at a major entertainment studio in Santa Monica, California. By night, he works with a growing team of writers, editors, designers, illustrators, animators, and engineers to bring Wondaer’s interactive stories to life—one enchanted pixel at a time. Born in Northern California to book-loving, globe-trotting parents, he grew up crafting stories with his brother, making short films, and exploring the world—from the Galápagos Islands to Everest base camp. After directing 80 short films in high school, he studied film at USC, spent a semester in Cape Town, and interned at four Hollywood studios while launching a small production company. His career spans writing, design, and filmmaking—he sold a TV show to Showtime, produced a viral travel documentary with over 1 million views, and was hired to film adventure spots in Alaska featuring ice caves, whales, and grizzlies. His screenplays have won first place and semifinalist honors in national contests, and a 500-page YA novel earned him mentorship with a Simon & Schuster editor. He continued writing through UCLA and Stanford courses, and later returned to USC for his MBA, where he transformed an early interactive storytelling idea into The Wondaer Library—a story-first, interactive reading experience that won two pitch competitions and continues to grow today. He now lives in Southern California with his two-year-old daughter, a golden retriever, and a growing collection of imaginary worlds.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM WONDAER STORIES

Wondaer stories are born at the intersection of heart, humor, and high-stakes adventure. We believe stories should feel like secret maps, whispered invitations to escape into wild and imaginative worlds, explore strange mysteries, and discover the bravest corners of your own heart. Our tales are packed with cinematic adventure, playful irreverence, and emotional honesty. We write fast-paced narratives filled with cliffhangers and surprises—stories that keep kids turning the page and hungry for what comes next. We write for kids who are sensitive and strong, weird and wise, curious and courageous. The ones asking big questions. The ones who don’t fit into neat little boxes. Our characters face real stakes—grief, change, wonder, responsibility—but always with humor, hope, and a desire to challenge themselves. Our stories don’t just entertain—they empower. Welcome to Wondaer. The stories are just beginning.
